House Rules for Megbɔ Aƒe Residents

Effective Date: January 4, 2026

The House Rules of Megbɔ Aƒe Residence are designed to ensure a peaceful, respectful, and comfortable living environment for all residents and guests. As a shared, culturally rooted home, we ask that everyone be mindful of communal spaces, utility usage, and the wellbeing of others.

These rules outline expectations regarding conduct, visitors, noise levels, energy and water conservation, use of shared facilities, and overall care of the property. They also support our commitment to sustainability, safety, and community living.

By staying at Megbɔ Aƒe Residence, guests agree to comply with all house rules as part of their booking terms. Failure to do so may result in corrective action in accordance with our policies. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a welcoming home for all.

  2. Smoking, illegal substances, and disruptive behavior are strictly prohibited.
  3. Visitors are allowed between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM upon presenting a valid government issued ID and signing the Visitor’s logbook with security. Overnight guests are not permitted.
  4. No pets are permitted without written approval from management.
  5. Housekeeping will be provided for the exterior compound and interior common areas on each working day. Room cleaning is performed on a bi-weekly basis. Daily cleaning or laundry service may be arranged at an additional cost. Please see the office for more details.

Noise & Disturbance Policy

  1. Guests must respect the peace and privacy of other residents.
  2. Loud music, disruptive behavior, or excessive noise is not permitted, especially during quiet hours, 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM.

Eco-Friendly Utility Usage

  1. Megbɔ Aƒe Residence operates as an eco-conscious home, and room rates are based on moderate and responsible utility usage. Guests are required to switch off all electrical appliances, including air conditioners, fans, hot water heaters, and lighting, when not actively in use or when leaving the room.
  2. Following a courtesy reminder, management reserves the right to enter the room to switch off unattended appliances for energy conservation purposes. Repeated occurrences of excessive or negligent utility use may result in additional utility charges being applied to the resident’s account.
  3. Megbɔ Aƒe Residence is equipped with a solar power backup system. During general power outages in the area (dumsor), lights and fans will remain operational, however high-energy appliances such as air conditioners and hot water heaters will not function. To help ensure the solar battery lasts throughout the day, residents are kindly asked to conserve energy by turning off lights, fans, and other electrical items when not in use.

Repeated violations may result in termination of stay without refund.

Laundry Policy

Megbɔ Aƒe Residence provides a washing machine and outdoor clothesline for guest use. To ensure fairness, safety, and eco-friendly practices, residents should adhere to these guidelines:

Washing Guidelines

  • Wash only full loads to conserve water and electricity.
  • Use only machine-safe laundry detergent (powder or liquid). Do not use hand-washing detergent.
  • No bleach or harsh chemicals to prevent machine damage.
  • Do not overload the washing machine. Only wash loads that fit comfortably to avoid damage. Repairs required as a result of machine overloading will incur a maintenance fee.
  • Avoid washing during rainy days, power outages (dumsor), or periods of water shortage.
  • Follow the detergent diagram provided to know where to pour dry vs. liquid detergent.
  • Promptly remove clothes from the washing machine at the end of each cycle.

Drying Clothes

  • Clothing should be dried on the outdoor clothesline situated at the back of the house.
  • Do not leave clothes on the line overnight to avoid pest issues and unsightliness.
  • Use your own clothes pins to secure laundry to the line.
  • Remove clothes promptly once dry so space is available for others.

Sheets & Towels

  • Guests residing at Megbɔ Aƒe Residence for transitional stays may bring their own bedding and towels for long-term use.
  • Optionally, each guest will be provided with one sheet and towel set for the duration of their stay.
  • Guests are responsible for laundering their sheets and towel during their stay.
  • Do not wash pillow protectors or mattress protectors unless they are visibly soiled. If needed, notify management for assistance.
  • Replacement Policy: Lost, permanently stained, or damaged linens will incur a replacement fee.
  • Optional Linen Service: Linens can be laundered on a weekly basis by our staff for an additional fee. Please see the office for more details.

Misuse of laundry facilities may result in restricted access.
